The Hotel Dispatch

Not for Everyone: Hotels That Require an Introduction

A curated note on the difference between a hotel that values context and a business that merely markets scarcity.

Introduction is not entitlement

Some private residences, clubs and buy-out properties rely on a trusted introducer because the house is small, the setting sensitive or the guest list deliberately limited. That model can protect privacy, but it is not a universal certificate of quality.

Public hotels should not imply inaccessible rules they do not actually maintain. Where an introduction is requested, legitimate criteria, data handling and fair treatment still matter. Exclusivity is not permission for arbitrary or discriminatory conduct.

The EGL test

Ask what the introduction establishes, who receives the information and whether a direct enquiry remains possible. A serious house explains the process without humiliation or spectacle.

Everything.Goes.Luxury values discretion, not exclusion as theatre. The finest invitation is one that creates trust on both sides and then becomes almost invisible.
