Its shadows are part of the character. A historic house can feel formal, busy and socially exposed. Guests seeking total retreat may prefer a smaller address; guests seeking St. Moritz in full usually understand the exchange.
Where it holds
The Palace is strongest when the concierge, ski logistics and dining reservations operate as one thought. The suite matters, but the continuity between mountain and hotel matters more.
Come for the institution, not a frictionless imitation of a new chalet. Patina is not a flaw when it carries memory and the service knows how to support it.
