Six hundred acres in Canyon Point, at the edge of the Grand Staircase-Escalante, with the resort tucked against a rock escarpment so that it is invisible until the last turn of the approach road. The central pool is built around a boulder that the architects declined to move — the defining image of the property and a fair summary of its philosophy.
Thirty-four suites, most with private courtyards, some with pools, all with the same palette of concrete, timber and desert. Camp Sarika, opened in 2020, added ten tented pavilions a mile into the property with private pools and their own kitchen — the most private accommodation Aman operates in the Americas.
Via ferrata routes up the surrounding cliffs are the signature activity and genuinely serious. Beyond that: slot canyon walks with Navajo guides, Lake Powell by boat, helicopter to Monument Valley, and a hot-air balloon at dawn. The spa's flotation pavilion is worth the appointment.
The nearest airport of any size is Page, and most guests fly private or drive four hours from Las Vegas. Summer heat closes the middle of the day. And the rate has risen faster than almost any hotel in the Americas since 2019.
A Desert Pool Suite with a private pool and a walled terrace facing open desert rather than the central pool court. For complete separation, the Camp Sarika pavilions sit a mile away with their own plunge pools, staff and dining.
Extreme. Grey concrete, no colour, no music, no logo, and a location where the nearest town is twenty minutes and the nearest city four hours. Guests come to be unreachable.
April to May and September to October. Summer regularly exceeds 38°C; winter is cold, clear and beautiful, with the lowest rates.
